2012 Porsche 911 Carrera

Have you ever heard of a sports car that had 48 years to evolve? Some say that “everything gets better with age”. And you know what? They’re true! The Porsche 911 Carrera, in my opinion, is the most refined sports car in history. Luckily, Porsche made a new one! And they gave us some information about it, before the official debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera is completely redesigned, and is more beautiful than ever! As always, the new 911 didn’t go through any significant changes, but there are some noticable differences. For example, the car’s wheelbase is wider than before, and the height is lower as well. The basic 911 Carrera has a 3.4 L traditional flat six developing 350 hp, while the Carrera S is powered by a 3.8 L engine with 400 horsepowers. Both is equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox or a seven-speed manual transmission. Thanks to these amazing gearboxes, the Carrera S can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds flat, and the basic Carrera just under 4,5 seconds. Top speed for the Carrera S is about 302 km/h (188 mp/h), and 288 km/h (179 mp/h) for the basic Carrera.

The fuel efficiency is also better than before! Thanks to features like stop-start technology, or an optional PDK transmission. Thanks to all this, the new 911 Carrera is more dynamic, 14% more fuel efficient, and more beautiful than ever! Bad stuff? I don’t think there’s any. But we’ll have to wait until the official debut, and the first road test. So what’s the price for all these good stuff, you might ask. Well, the basic price will be $82,000 and the S package will be $96,400.

Personally, I love Porches. Especially the 911 series. Of course, if we talk about performance, the GT3 RS 4.0 is always gonna be better than any other 911, but if you want to use a sports car every day, the Carrera is your best choice. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of those babies! 😀 So this is my opinion about the new Carrera, but as always, I’m very interested in your opinion as well! So please leave a comment and a request as well! Here are some pictures of this beauty!
